Please note: THIS CONCERT BEGINS at 2:00 p.m. Edendale Up Close Concert, Saturday July 13th at 2:00 p.m. Ranchera ‘22 performs synthesizer interpretations of the songs of José Alfredo Jiménez For our next Edendale Up Close concert, we are excited to present Ranchera ‘22 (Aaron MF Olson and ensemble), performing synthesizer interpretations of the songs of legendary singer-songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez, whose work starting in the 1940s helped create the ranchera style of Mexican music. This is the space-age bachelor pad version, and I promise you it is delightful! Ranchera ‘22 is the brainchild of my friend Aaron MF Olson, who in addition to working at the Silverlake Branch Library, is a multi-instrumentalist who leads many forward-thinking musical projects including L.A.
